Remote Access to Library

Remote Access to Library Resources During Online Instruction

Welcome! This guide will help you locate library research and instructional support resources that are available during online instruction. LCAD will be delivering instruction online until the end of the term. All due dates on currently checked out materials will be extended until the campus re-opens. If you have any questions, please contact the library at libcheckout@lcad.edu - this email will be checked throughout the day and a librarian will get back to you as soon as possible.

Connecting to the Library Catalog and Online Databases from Off Campus

In order to access many of the Libraries’ electronic articles, books, media, etc., you need to be authenticated as an LCAD student or employee.

  • Online Catalog: You can connect to the library’s online catalog, which enables you to manage your library account and find books and DVDs we have in the library at //lcad.on.worldcat.org/discovery
  • Online Databases: You can access the library’s online databases, which enable you to search for ebooks and academic journal/magazine/newspaper articles, by logging in through our ezproxy server at //login.ezproxy.www.animepower-fansub.com/login.Your username is the part of your email that comes before @lcad.edu, and your password is the same as your LCAD email password.
  • EBSCO Database:From the list of databases, your main resource for locating ebooks, academic journal, and periodical articles will be the EBSCO Databases resource. Once you click on EBSCO Databases to access its homepage, make sure to click on the “Choose Databases” option at the top of the screen and then check the boxes for “eBook Collection (EBSCOhost)” and “eBook Academic Collection (EBSCOhost)

If you have any difficulty using the online catalog and online databases, or if you would like research assistance or have research questions, please contact the library at libcheckout@lcad.edu and a librarian will assist you.

Returning Materials

As mentioned above, all due dates for checked-out materials will be extended until the campus re-opens.  Therefore, it is not necessary to return materials until that time.
